Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 14, 2026
ScheduleTie LLC ("ScheduleTie", "we", "us") runs ScheduleTie, a service that keeps a contractor's JobTread schedule and a Google Calendar in sync. This policy explains what data ScheduleTie accesses, what we do with it, what we keep and for how long, who helps us run the service, and how to ask us to delete your data. If you have a question, email support@scheduletie.com.
Who this policy covers
- Customers: the contractor (a business) who connects their JobTread account and their Google account to ScheduleTie, and the people at that business who use it.
- Crew members and others who see the ScheduleTie calendar or open a checklist link from one of its events.
- Homeowners and other clients whose names and job addresses are on the contractor's jobs in JobTread. We process that information on behalf of the contractor who connects their account, only to provide the service to them.
Google data we access
When you connect your Google account, ScheduleTie asks Google for one permission: to create its own calendar
in your account and to see, create, change and delete the events on that calendar (Google's
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.app.created scope). With it, ScheduleTie:
- creates one calendar in your Google account for your JobTread jobs;
- creates, updates and removes one event on it for each scheduled JobTread task;
- asks Google to tell it when an event on that calendar changes, then reads the changed event. If it's an event ScheduleTie made, we use its date and time (start, end, and whether it's all day) to update the task in JobTread. If its title was changed, we put JobTread's title back. If it's an event someone else added to the calendar, we ignore it and keep nothing from it;
- posts a notice event on that calendar when something needs your attention (for example, a date change that couldn't reach JobTread), and removes it once it's resolved.
ScheduleTie can't see your other calendars, and never accesses your email, contacts or files. It never changes who the calendar is shared with: you share it with your crew yourself, in Google Calendar.
JobTread data we access
When you connect your JobTread account, ScheduleTie reads:
- the tasks on your published schedules: each task's name, type, dates and times, description, checklist, the names of the people assigned, and its attached files (as the links JobTread provides);
- each job's name and address, and the name of the job's customer (the homeowner or client);
- your organization's time zone.
We show this information on the task's calendar event (its title, location, description and attachments) so your crew has it on their phones. JobTread tells us when a task changes, so the event can be updated right away.
Besides registering (and, when you disconnect, removing) the webhook that tells us about changes, ScheduleTie writes to JobTread only to change a task's dates and times when they're moved on the calendar, and to check off (or un-check) checklist items from the checklist page.
The JobTread data, including job addresses and homeowners' names, is processed on behalf of the contractor who connects their account, only to provide the service to them.
How we use the data
Only to provide ScheduleTie's features: keeping your calendar events and JobTread tasks in sync, showing the checklist page, and telling you when something didn't sync. We don't use it for anything else.
What we keep, and for how long
The content of your events (titles, descriptions, addresses, checklists) lives in your Google Calendar and in JobTread. Our database doesn't keep a copy of it. What we keep:
| What | What it holds | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Sync records | For each synced task: its JobTread task and job ids, its Google event id, the dates both sides last agreed on, and a fingerprint (a hash) of the event we last wrote | While your account is active |
| Job colors | Each JobTread job id and the color we gave it | While your account is active |
| Account settings | Your business name, JobTread organization id, time zone, the calendar's id, which task types to sync, and the details of Google's change notifications for the calendar (a channel id, its token and where we're up to in the calendar's changes) | While your account is active |
| Access tokens | The revocable permissions you granted ScheduleTie in Google and JobTread (never your passwords), stored encrypted | Until you disconnect or your account is deleted |
| Calendar changes waiting to be retried | The event and task ids, when it failed and the error message | Until the change goes through. One we give up on is removed about a week after its last failure |
| Background job records | Task and calendar ids, and the error message for a job that failed | 24 hours, or 7 days for a job that failed |
| Checklist check-offs in progress | Which item was tapped, on which page, held in the server's memory to make sure each tap counts once | 15 minutes after the page was last used |
| Server logs | A record of what the server did, which includes task and event titles, dates and times, ids, error messages, and the IP address of every request (including anyone who opens a checklist link) | 3 days at Better Stack, and 7 days at Render |
| Database backups | Everything in our database, kept by Render to recover from a failure | 3 days |
Who processes the data
We use these service providers to run ScheduleTie. Each processes data only to provide its service to us:
- Render runs our server, database and job queue (in the United States).
- Better Stack stores our server logs and checks that the server is up.
- Cloudflare serves this website, runs our domain's DNS, carries traffic to our server, and forwards email sent to support@scheduletie.com.
- Google and JobTread are the services you connect. Data moves between them only as described above.
- Our email provider receives the messages you send to support@scheduletie.com.
We don't share your data with anyone else.
What we never do
- We never sell your data, or give it to advertisers or data brokers.
- We never use it for advertising, including retargeting, or to decide anyone's creditworthiness or for lending.
- We never transfer it to anyone except: as needed to provide ScheduleTie's features; for security; to comply with the law; or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business, and in that case only with your explicit consent beforehand.
- We never use data from Google or JobTread to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- No person at ScheduleTie reads your data, including what appears in our logs, except: with your permission, to fix a problem you've reported; when it's needed for security (for example, to investigate abuse); or when the law requires it.
ScheduleTie's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we protect it
- Every connection to ScheduleTie, and from it to Google and JobTread, is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Render encrypts our database and its backups at rest. Access tokens (never your passwords) are encrypted again in our database.
- Each customer's data is kept apart in the database, so one customer's records can't be read or changed through another's.
- Access to our production systems is limited to the people who run ScheduleTie. If investigating a problem needs a copy of the database, the copy is kept encrypted and deleted as soon as we're done.
Your choices
- Disconnect at any time. Remove ScheduleTie's access from your Google Account (Security → Third-party apps and services), and from JobTread. Syncing stops.
- Ask for a copy, a correction or deletion. Email support@scheduletie.com. We'll do it within 30 days and let you know when it's done. Deleting your account removes everything in our database for it, including its access tokens, removes its JobTread webhook, and stops Google's change notifications. Logs and backups then expire on the schedule above.
- The calendar is yours. The calendar ScheduleTie created stays in your Google account: delete it yourself in Google Calendar, or ask us to delete it for you.
- Crew members and homeowners can contact the contractor whose jobs they're part of, or email us directly.
Checklist links
Each task's calendar event can link to a checklist page. When someone opens it, our server logs their IP address and the page they opened (without the link's secret part), as in the table above. We use these to keep the page from being overloaded and to fix problems. The page uses no cookies and no tracking. While it's open, it may keep a short note in that browser tab (for example, why the page just reloaded); the note is never sent to us.
This website
scheduletie.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Cloudflare serves it, and may keep standard records of the requests it handles.
Children
ScheduleTie is a service for businesses and isn't meant for children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above and email our customers before the change takes effect. Before we use Google data in any new way, we'll ask for your consent.
